Measurements [American]
- 1 egg
- 200 g self raising flour
- 200 g margarine
- Either:
- 200 g caster sugar
- 200 g demarara(to add chunchiness!)
- 1 pack coloured boiled sweets [Note from SusieJ: I think these are called "hard candies" in America; I don't know how large a pack is.]
Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C. Cream together the marg and the sugar. Add the egg and mix in the flour little by little. Cook in the oven for 15 mins. When cool, smash the boiled sweets into bits with a rolling pin and a tea towel gentlely sprinkle the bits over the cakes. Enjoy !
This recipe was given to me by my great grandmother, one of the best cooks I have ever met! It has been adapted by my mother and so on and is a great recipe that your children will love making and eating!
