Measurements [American]
- 340 g butter (cool salted cubes)
- 200 g sugar
- 280 g flour
- 200 g corn starch
- 2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp emplex (optional) makes the cookies taste crisp and last longer
Do not grease baking tray. Perheat oven before start 180 degrees C
Steps:- a) butter, sugar, emplex, essence into mixer and beat at middle speed
b) add beaten egg bit by bit into mixer
c) add flour bit by bit into mixer (slow speed)
Note: Scrape sides of mixer and beat a little more (creaming method)
d) scoop into pipping bag and pipe into a heart shape if possible.
or straight line or whatever you fancy.
e) bake at 180 degrees C for 20 mins.

Note: I did a web search for Emplex. It is an emulsifier, specifically sodium stearoyl lactylate, and is made by American Ingredients Company. It is used to give cookies extra crunch. --SJ
I found this to be a simple cookie to make all year round.
My 9 year old son, Wong Loong Wai, loves making this when he has some free time.
